The Alphabet Ceremony is an important event in the lives of Dushanbe kindergarten children.

This celebrates the learning of the alphabet. The first stage on the road to be literate. It is quite a ceremony. The children dressed in Taditional Tajik clothes.

There is a musical concert in which children recite poetry, sing songs and dance. They do this before their mum's and dads and teachers and  invited guests.

At the end of the concert the children are given presents. They then have a feast. Tajik traditional cuisine is served. This meal ends the ceremony.

The children feel proud of their achievement. They are alphabet Kings and Queens for the day.

Here is a pictural record of one such Alphabet Ceremony.
